カラー州に住む医師が、自宅にソーラーパネルを設置し、発電した電気で車を充電しているという動画がSOLAR KARTチャンネルに公開された。そのため、Nexon EVを使用する上で走行費用は一切かからないという。

この動画は、ソーラーパネルと電気自動車に投資することの価値についても説明。医師は、自宅で発電した電気で家庭用電気と車をまかなっており、燃料を必要とする車種に比べて電気自動車の運転コストは格段に低いと説明している。例えば、8年間の燃費費用が最低でも60万ルピー（約86万円）かかるガソリン車に比べ、同じ期間で電気自動車は10万ルピー未満（約1万4000円未満）で済むという。
医師は、ソーラーパネルから発電した余剰電力は州の電力会社に販売しており、週に一度、約30ユニットの電力を使用し、平均250kmの走行が可能だと語っている。さらに、電気自動車はガソリン車やディーゼル車に比べて、点検やメンテナンスが頻繁に必要ないため、コスト削減につながっているとのこと。

医師は自身の決断に満足しており、通常の電気自動車の充電にお金をかけていた過去と比較して、今は、ゼロエミッションの車両を運転しているが、5％の道路税を払うだけとのことであった。タタモーターズのNexon EVは3つの異なるバリアント(XM、XZ Plus、XZ Plus Lux)がある。すべてのバリアントは前輪駆動方式で、最大出力129 PS、最大トルク245 Nmを発揮する前面に取り付けられたモーターを備えている。また、30.2 kWhのリチウムイオンバッテリーを搭載し、312 kmの走行距離を提供し、充電には8.5時間かかるとされている。
価格は1,429,000ルピー（約205万円）から1,670,000ルピー（約240万円）まで幅広い。XZ PlusとXZ Plus Luxの上級バージョンは、それぞれのバリアントより約20,000ルピー以内で購入できる黒色エディションも提供されている。
