欧州における自動車販売数が推移している2023年2月において、電気自動車（BEV）の登録台数が33％も伸び、新車市場の中でもTesla Model Yが最も売れた車種となった。Jato Dynamicsの業界アナリストによると、EU市場とイギリス、ノルウェー、スイス、アイスランドを含めた2月の自動車販売台数は約90万台に上り、ベルギー、イタリア、スペイン、イギリスの4カ国はBEV販売の伸びが支援したことで、二桁の成長率を記録した。一方で、キプロス、フィンランド、ノルウェー、スウェーデンは販売台数の減少が見られ、ノルウェーはBEVの欧州での拡大に貢献しなくなったとJato Global Analystのフェリペ・ムニョス氏は指摘している。
競争力ある取引やオファーに加え、射程距離や充電インフラストラクチャに対するバイヤーの信頼増加がBEV販売の急増に寄与した。特に、テスラはイギリスで最高8,000ポンドの値下げを行い、市場を牽引した。BEV販売数は、テスラModel Y（18,446台）が首位で、それに続いてフォルクスワーゲンID 3（5,375台）とID 4（5,194台）が続いた。テスラModel Yの好調は、Model 3セダンの販売が2022年2月比で49％減少したことに引き継がれたものである。プラグインハイブリッド車のベストセラーは、フォード・クーガで3,396台の販売を記録した。
